Music is that essential raw material which runs through all activities of the Somepoorna Art factory. It maybe the background score for the stage plays or the common man's song for the street plays. More inportantly, music is the first platform on which we are going public. Our first album Poornadani is a confluence of all our ideas and influences accreted for over a couple of years. It is an experiment, a hope and a new effort towards a genre of music where the tune, the lyrics and all the special effects work in harmony to create a certain intended mood in the mind of the listener. In a literal sense, with "Bhavane" meaning emotion/mood and "Geethe" meaning song, our album qualifies to the genre of Bhavane-geethe. Going by the established genres, our music team has three main influences viz. carnatic classical, indian filmy music and a hint of rock and fusion. Also, in a bid to showcase one's abilities, it is very tempting to go overboard and choke the songs musically, but in this album, we have consistently followed the principle of "less is more" wherever required. After all, one can appreciate brightness (full burst of music) only when one has a small glimpse of darkness(the relatively silent sections) as well.
