Interestingly he loves coding and scripting when it comes to his bread winning deed.

In all humility, he describes himself only as a \"Mridangam player\". He can make the percussions whisper, talk, shout and much more as and how he wishes. The keen observer that he is, he tends to document even the minutest things he sees. Otherwise he earns his living as a biologist in a prestigious research foundation. Dhani was officially introduced to the SAF by Balaji.

He can travel through all three octaves with clinical ease and keeping his voice clarity intact. This is really evident in his 10,000 Watts \"Alaaps\" and the \"Swara\" sections of songs. It's not a surprise that he is the fountain of knowledge when it comes to classical ragas and other technicalities. Inspite of being a busy corporate in a multi-national firm, he maitains a strict daily regimen of singing and voice conditioning (riyaaz). Balaji was Vatsa's junior at school. Hence he is dragged and ragged to sing!!
